Today is the first day of Labyrinth Educational Consulting. We are excited to launch this service for students seeking college as a path to the life they envision for themselves. We are inviting you to take a peek at what we do.

Fig. 1. The Labyrinth: Navigating the Complex Admissions Maze
Labyrinth Educational Consulting is a collection of seasoned higher education professionals offering full-service college admissions consulting to students and their families. Our people have shaped admissions processes, the classroom, and student success measures at highly selective institutions throughout the country.
We offer packages specific to high school students seeking to access the most competitive institutions in the country and high school students looking to find and fund their “best fit” college experience. Labyrinth also offers comprehensive packages for undergraduates and students with a baccalaureate degree looking to transition into a high-stakes professional health school, such as Medical School, Dental School, PA School, Nursing School, etc.
The question about what college admissions consulting or coaching companies do keeps coming up, and while it is impossible to give perspective on what every company does, we can give you an idea of the three major things these companies generally SHOULD do:
Consultants or coaches should engage in a holistic review of clients: This means that they should look at a number of factors beyond academic acumen as a means of determining how a prospective applicant would perform in a competitive admission. In fact, the WHOLE client should be considered. This should go without saying, but we have noted how many books about admission by "insiders" and "experts" to Ivy League Institutions or universities like Stanford, Northwestern, and UCLA point almost exclusively to grades, academic index, and test scores. Yeah, no ...
They should be up front with clients: In looking at some of the statistical "data" presented by some of the boutique admissions consulting companies, it seems as though they are solely responsible for the admittance classes at Ivy League institutions. Yeah, no ...
Most importantly, companies should offer more than consultants and/or coaches whose only contribution to the world (or this industry) is that they were admitted into an Ivy League or top tier institution. Consultants or coaches should have qualifying, demonstrated experience. There is this prevailing (il)logic is if a consultant attended an Ivy or competitive institution then they have the "secret sauce" to admission to an Ivy institution. Yeah, no ...
At Labyrinth Educational, we prioritize the student and the ethics of working with you and your family as you navigate the complex maze of college admissions. We understand that you are making an investment. We aim to protect and optimize your investment. We can't wait to work with you.
