People transfer between schools for so many different reasons. Some look for cost-savings by starting at a two-year college and optimizing transfer credit for their desired program. Some have personal or family reasons for not starting at the institution they originally intended. Many aren't ready to start at the institution they wanted to attend from the beginning and they start somewhere else. And, many really, really smart students did not fully apply themselves during their high school years.

Many colleges -- faculty, administrators, and student services professionals -- stigmatize transfer students. They will not see the courses taken at other schools, especially community colleges, as equivalent in terms of quality, even if your courses are deemed equivalent to theirs. Yet, most universities want transfer students, they need transfer students. We will provide you the tools for managing this stigma.
